  • ESPIT (Essential Surgical Procedures in Trauma)

History & Mission

The KARPET (Korean Association for Research, Procedures and Education on Trauma) was founded in South Korea 2014. At that time the KARPET developed a new surgical education program for trauma named ESPIT (Essential Surgical Procedures in Trauma) including lecture, ultrasonography with a standardized patient (eFAST), a dry lab for airway management, animal lab with swine for decision making in trauma. Also, the KARPET is dedicated to the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and experience in the trauma field.

It aims to promote:

  • High standards of practice in the art of trauma surgery
  • Support the advancement of science among specialties through case discussion
  • Support the basic and specialty fields of trauma management
  • Facilitate the exchange of ideas on a formal and informal basis and establish collegiality
  • KTAT (Korea Trauma Assessment and Treatment Course)

History & Mission

The KART (Korean Association of Resuscitation in Trauma) was founded in South Korea 2018. KART established more realistic and effective simulation education for trauma resuscitation through the overall revision of the KTAT (Korea Trauma Assessment and Treatment Course) education, which was created and implemented in 2010 by the Korean Society of Traumatology and the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine. Brand new KTAT is consists of minimal lecture, ultrasonography with a standardized patient (eFAST), skills and radiology images workshop for trauma, simulation training for the primary and second survey in trauma treatment. Also, the KART is dedicated to the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and experience in the trauma field.

It aims to promote:

  • Support the advancement of science among specialties through case discussion
  • Support the basic and specialty fields of trauma management
  • Facilitate the exchange of ideas on a formal and informal basis and establish collegiality
